Program Facilitator (Stipend-Based Role)

Program Facilitators engage directly with girls once a week for a minimum of 2hours in a classroom setting. They are the heart of Queens Empowerment Academy’s work. Facilitators commit to the full school year and play a vital role in delivering our weekly programming with care, leadership, and consistency.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading sessions
  • Building positive relationships with girls
  • Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and affirming space
  • Taking attendance and documenting session reflections

Commitment:

  • Minimum 2 hours weekly for in-person programming

Compensation:

  • Paid via stipend (3 times throughout the school year)

Program Intern (Unpaid)

The Program Intern role is ideal for undergraduate or graduate students seeking hands-on experience in education, social work, and/or nonprofit leadership. 

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting and/or leading QEA programming
  • Supporting planning and logistics
  • Participating in professional development and team meetings

Commitment:

  • 5–15 hours weekly (combination of in-person and virtual)

Compensation:

  • Unpaid (internship hours and letters of recommendation available)

High School Intern (Stipend-Based Role)

High School Volunteer Mentors support weekly programming while gaining early experience in leadership, education, and service. After completing orientation, they assist facilitators during sessions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Assisting with classroom activities
  • Modeling positive behavior and leadership
  • Supporting setup and breakdown of sessions

Commitment:

  • Minimum 2 hours weekly for in-person programming

Compensation:

  • Paid via stipend (3 times throughout the school year)

 Event Volunteer Opportunities

Queens Empowerment Academy welcomes event volunteers for special events, trips, and workshops throughout the year.

How it works:

  • Opportunities will be posted on our website and social media
  • Volunteers must complete a brief interest form and attend a brief orientation or prep call when needed
